Surveys and Mapping Division (SMD) is a government organization in the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, responsible for undertaking, supervising and administration of land surveying and mapping activities in Tanzania. This involves collecting and processing land survey data and information for production of plans, maps and charts for use in the land administration. The division comprises four sections namely; Mapping Section, Hydrographic section, Geodetic and Topographic Section and Cadastral Section.
