Hydrograph Survey can be defined as the science of surveying and charting the sea floor and coastlines for navigation and other purposes.

Hydrographic section is responsible for Hydrographic Surveys and Charts, it also initiate applications in research of Hydrography and Oceanography studies. Hydrography section also collaborates with International Organisationon Maritime Boundaries, Marine Envelopment Management and Harbours Authority on Hydrographic charts.
